An anthology of John Muir’s texts

John Muir wrote about mountains, nature, and wilderness. If you are wondering who he was, the short answer is the ‘prophet of world environmentalism’. Born in Scotland in 1838, he emigrated to Wisconsin when he was eleven. He is considered the godfather of American National Parks and founder of the Sierra Club, the oldest environmental movement in the world. He spent his life travelling and exploring the world, to the extent he said, ‘I might have become a millionaire, but I chose to become a tramp.’ What a legend. Read some of his texts if you find the time.
