Rooms with a view
Rooms with a view: sit down and admire the imposing sphynx that is the Sassongher. But “a room with a view” is a lot more than that. It is a titillating title which will take you to bright and magical Florence at the start of the 20th century with Lucy. Away from home, Lucy finds a city full of magic and fun, the opposite of the rigorous prudish pall of her own country. The famous film came out in 1985, and is a refined reimagining of a novel which marries Edwardian romanticism and feminist thoughts. Directed by James Ivory, this film is a refreshing breath of fresh air, ironic, with excellent acting and was awarded three Oscars: Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Costume Design, and Best Art Direction. A film you could watch time and again, just like you could do with the view of the Dolomites from your room. Enjoy!
