We like being with our guests

Socrates wondered how those who listened to him enjoyed spending so much time with him. He wondered why, given that he had nothing to teach: ‘I know that I know nothing’, the paradoxical foundation of his way of thinking, is based on ignorance defined as awareness and never as definitive knowledge. But he knew very well why people loved to be with him as he questioned those who thought they knew everything. Because, according to Socrates, a philosopher is the complete opposite of a know-it-all, that is to say those who claim to be wise and all-knowing. Oh but yes, how we would love to spend hours listening to good old Socrates! Just as we love to be with our guests who have so much to tell. Because when we listen, we open our ears to new forms of awareness. But never definitive knowledge, please...
