The fascination of this place
is not about what there is
but about what is missing.

This is not a cliché.

Poor art

From works of poor art
Sublime poems were written
With just a stub of pencil
Found amongst the rubbish
From works of rich art
Banal poems were written
With a Waterman
Of a golden type
Yet,
When a designer
is lacking in ideas
He will often use materials
Of a very precious nature
These simple lines are of Bruno Munari, one of the fathers of Italian design, an ecletic artist, and a special person, and one capable of simple brilliance. Or of brilliant simplicity!
P.S. Cups and teapots belong to the collection ‘I collect that which I like’, as conceived and exhibited around the hotel by Ernesto, and composed of various types of objects chosen with criteria somewhere hovering between life, art and fantasy.
