Tracht

TThis painting is located at the entrance to the house. It portrays a young couple wearing the Tracht, the typical clothes of the Ladins wear during certain special ceremonies and on certain special festive days.
Noam Chomsky, linguist and philosopher, says that 'a language is a dialect with a passport and an army'. We Ladins have neither passports nor armies, so our language fluctuates freely between the Dolomite valleys, changing without forgetting its origin, which dates back to the mists of time.
